It is important to remember that you are in a professional setting- and what brings you there and connects you to the others is the work. So while it is good to get to know people and build relationships- and while getting to know you co-workers in social settings can actually help in your working together with them as a team- always stay focused on the work- and behave in a professional and courteous manner. The fact that you have connected with someone doesn’t mean you relax your professional demeanor.
