Keep yout mentor updated

Sophia Zeinu at Georgetown stresses it is good follow through to keep your mentor updated on your progress. Both in terms of your summer and your professional development. You need to demonstrate that you are "hearing" them and are working on the feedback they have shared with you. After all it is seeing the impact of their work with you that keeps them engaged in the mentoring process. And definitely be sure to thank them- and show them you appreciate their time and advice. In fact you might want to think about whether the mentor is someone you want to stay in touch with and continue to build a relationship with beyond the summer- and in that case have that conversation with them as well before you leave- and set it up where you can reach out to them on an ongoing basis!
