Good Conversation Starters

Focus on relevant topics. Omar Ramirez from Harvard University advises you to ask questions that are meaningful to your target. If they are your superior, ask them what motivated them to join the division they are in. Perhaps you can ask if they have any advice to give. For some, it might be as simple as asking their opinion on whatever issue is being discussed in the Wall Street Journal. James Brown from Princeton University agrees that one way to start a good conversation is to focus on an interesting, but relevant, topic in the news.

A good idea coming in is to find previous interns and entry level staff who are have experienced the 8-week interview process. It will help provide you with insights into the companys corporate culture and help guide you towards being succesful this summer.
