Etiquette

“What is the proper etiquette when sitting in on meetings?” asks Taiesha Abrams, Duke University

Your goal is to learn through observation. Arrive at the meeting early or come to the meeting with others from your group and sit in a spot that allows those who are participants and regular attendees to have the choice seats. Be prepared to introduce yourself with a loud and clear voice. If time permits, research the topic prior to the meeting. Remain alert and take notes. If you have questions, write them down and ask them of the appropriate people after the meeting unless you are specifically invited to participate and asks questions. Appear interested and give the speakers your undivided attention. At all cost, avoid YAWNING and FALLING ASLEEP.
