Mentor Relationships: Try to Reciprocate

Think about why it hasn't worked out in the past and try to solve that problem before it gets worse. Continue to contact them periodically. The relationship must be mutually beneficial, so see if there’s any way you can help your mentor with any of their endeavors. If someone else can be of help, inform your mentor of that person. They will appreciate this and could do the same for you. Ask if they know anyone that could help you with your project, career or graduate school. Do not shun them away; you never know how that mentor could help in the future.
